Working as Business and Marketing Manager for the internationally renowned Nanaimo professional motivational speaker Michael Bortolotto has inspired Judy Clark to found Speke Management Services with definite aims in mind of how best to serve her consortium of professional speakers and event planner clients.
Raised in the tiny hamlet of Quatsino on the northwest coast of Vancouver Island, B.C., Judy started her journey towards becoming the respected independent businesswoman of today by working in her father’s shipyard during the summers of her childhood. This upbringing has heavily influenced Judy in respect of her work ethic: do it well, do it now and always remain focused on the needs of your clients.
Her professional background includes successful stints in the tourism industry as a tour guide and organizer and executive assistant at the world class Nimmo Bay Resort. Judy has also been a car salesperson, furniture store assistant manager, decorating consultant, floral designer and log scaler in the forestry industry. In harmony with her varied experience in service industries, Judy’s solid business sense, vibrant personality, charisma and rare interpersonal skills mark her has an utter joy to work for and with. Here to meet all of your business needs, Judy is the consummate professional and a breath of fresh air for the professional speaking industry!
Speke Management Services is named for John Hanning Speke (1827-1864), a man whose pioneering spirit is an inspiration to Judy Clark. A British army officer and intrepid explorer, he was a fearless individual who overcame extraordinary obstacles and problems in pursuit of his dreams. He discovered and named Lake Victoria - a body of water so vast that it straddles a part of Kenya and vast tracts of Tanzania and southern Uganda, where it holds the source of the White Nile.
Judy has visited Uganda and has floated over the bubbling, frothing spot where the source of the River Nile flows into Lake Victoria. It is 40 meters deep as the area has been dammed. The beauty of this place is indescribable; Mahatma Gandhi was so moved by what he saw that he arranged to have a portion of his ashes scattered here.
